Becker Design-Forum #12

What began 24 years ago as an ambitious experiment is now one of the most sought-after design platforms in the international furniture and interior design industry: the Becker Design Forum. At Interzum 2025, the forum will once again present itself as a creative hotspot and bridge between designers and manufacturers.

“A success story that we are very proud of,” says Gerrit Becker, Managing Director of Becker Brakel GmbH. This year, 104 designers from all over the world submitted their ideas - some with several concepts, resulting in a total of 144 visionary designs. “Every year, it feels like an early Christmas present when we discover the creativity and diversity of the submissions,” says Head of Development Joachim Schelper, describing the moment of viewing.

The Becker team had the challenging task of selecting ten outstanding designs to be realized as 1:1 prototypes in the in-house development workshop in Brakel. These will be presented to the public for the first time at Interzum in Cologne. “The selection was once again a challenge - we would prefer to implement all of the designs,” says Becker.
Creative minds from Germany, Austria, Great Britain, the Netherlands, the USA and other countries are represented - including renowned designers as well as talented newcomers. All participants not only receive an admission ticket to the trade fair, but are also represented in a comprehensive documentation that is distributed to visitors, customers and the press.

The aim: to offer innovative design ideas a platform to find potential manufacturers. “We are looking forward to exchanging ideas and helping to shape the next big design trends,” says Becker. The prototypes can be admired at Interzum in Hall 4.2, Stand D011/C010 - a must-see for design and industry professionals!
